Liz Towne joined Working America and the Working America Education fund in 2009. She provides strategic legal counsel to the Executive Director, Senior Management and the Board of Directors on a range of issues including general corporate, tax-exempt compliance, campaign finance, lobbying disclosure, labor relations, liability management and institutional risk, among other things. Prior to joining Working America, Liz served as the Director of Advocacy Programs at Alliance for Justice where she was responsible for strengthening the capacity of the public interest community to influence public policy and increasing foundation support for nonprofit advocacy. Before joining Alliance for Justice, Liz served in the Clinton Administration in the Office of General Counsel at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and as counsel to Gore 2000, Inc., Clinton/Gore '96, and the March Fund for Cancer Education. She has a Juris Doctor from D.C. School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Brockport.
