Working America Congratulates the AFL-CIO on Its Historic Election

Working America congratulates Liz Shuler and Fred Redmond on their respective elections to the Offices of President and Secretary-Treasurer of the AFL-CIO at its 29th Constitutional Convention.
As the community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, Working America joins the 12.5-million union members across the country in celebrating the historic election of Shuler as the first woman President of America’s Labor movement and Redmond as the first African-American Secretary-Treasurer.
“Working America looks forward to working with the AFL-CIO and all of America’s Unions in building the Labor movement to meet today’s moment,” says Matt Morrison, Executive Director of Working America.
“Let’s roll up our sleeves – to organize and rise together.”
