Working America Telecommunications Alert Program Terms and Conditions

Working America Telecommunications Alert Program Terms and Conditions

Program Description: Working America (“we,” “us” and “our”) unites and organizes working people who do not currently have a union on the job, and is engaging our members and workers across the country through various mobile messaging and telephonic channels (the “Program”), subject to these Working America Telecommunications Alert Program Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”).  The Program allows participants to receive, without limitation, informational alerts of interest to them; polling questions; information regarding the economy, civic participation, and politics; and general advocacy of interest to Working America members and others.  By providing your personal information when presented with a link to, or other notice of the existence of, these Terms, you agree that you are bound by these Terms and agree to receive communications from Working America and our affiliates, including SMS, MMS, voice and email.

User Opt In: The Program allows you to provide your contact information, including, but not limited to, your telephone number, so that we may contact you in the future using the contact information you provided.  The Program allows users to receive, among other communications, SMS/MMS informational mobile messages from Working America’s short code(s), including 44050. Users must affirmatively opt into the Program, such as through registering with a Working America employee or volunteer, opting in through a website form, or by becoming a member of Working America. Any telephone or mobile messaging service used by the Working America to communicate with you does not have the capacity to randomly or sequentially generate telephone numbers.  Thus any mobile messages and telephone calls encompassed by these Terms are not sent to you by an automatic telephone dialing system (“ATDS” or “autodialer”).  Nevertheless, by participating in the Program, you agree to receive autodialed and/or prerecorded calls or text messages from Working America and our affiliates.

Cost and Frequency: Message and data rates may apply.  The Program involves recurring mobile messages, and additional mobile messages may be sent based on your interaction with Working America and our affiliates.

Contact Information: For support text “HELP” to any Working America mobile message, or email us at [email protected].

User Opt Out: If you no longer wish to receive communications sent on behalf of Working America and wish to opt out of such communications, you can revoke your consent by asking to be placed on Working America’s Do-Not-Call list.  To opt out of receiving text messages from Working America, reply “STOP” to any Working America message.  You understand, however, that a do-not-call request made to Working America will not revoke your consent to be contacted by any of our affiliates, and vice versa.  For the avoidance of doubt, your consent to be contacted by Working America and its affiliates is specific to each entity, and thus if you later wish to opt out of receiving future calls or messages from or on behalf of one or more of these entities, you must communicate an opt-out request to each entity separately.

MMS: The Program will send SMS MTs if your mobile device does not support MMS messaging.

Privacy Policy: Working America will use and share your information consistent with its Privacy Policy .

Warranty: Working America will not be liable for any delays or failures in the receipt of any mobile messages connected with this Program. Delivery of mobile messages is subject to effective transmission from your wireless service provider/network operator, and is outside of Working America’s control.
