WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to the Supreme Court’s Janus v. AFSCME Council 31 decision, Working America Executive Director Matthew Morrison issued the following statement:
“Today’s Supreme Court decision in Janus v. AFSCME Council 31 is part of a long-standing campaign attacking working people’s freedom to join together to negotiate collectively. The decision handed down today only makes our resolve to engage and organize working-class communities even stronger. Over the past year, we’ve seen hundreds of thousands of workers mobilize and take collective action, and we hear every night on the doors that working people believe in strength in numbers as the way to achieve the real change they demand. No judicial decision or piece of legislation can hold back this surging movement.”
