Working America community action team members will gather with House Reps. Fred Strahorn (D-Dayton), Rick Perales (R-Beavercreek) and Roland Winburn (D-Dayton) at noon Saturday to discuss the impact of the new voter suppression laws and what can be done to organize people to make voting fair and free.
“With the new voting laws in place, it seems if you are a shift worker you are not as important as other citizens that can vote on Election Day,” said Working America member Paula Cates Harris of Beavercreek.
Working America member Shonda Sneed of Yellow Springs added, “I refuse to let these new voting laws turn back the hands of time, sending us back to the Jim Crow laws.”
